New Technology vs New Business

LeDigital printing: new technology for new markets
Over the past few years, the visual communication market has changed a great deal. We can no longer speak about a single market, but about several different markets. Alongside this segmentation, large and medium format printers have also acquired new digital technology.
Technical convergence of printers
Manufacturers of printing equipment dedicated to medium and large formats have continued with their development, constantly striving for innovation. The new generation of printers consists of technology that is increasingly versatile. Now, a printer can print on different products (textile or pvc sheeting, etc.) using the same equipment. In other words, these new printers are offering additional opportunities.
New markets and new business opportunities
New markets (decoration, interior architecture, events, etc.) have new requirements. Creativity, coupled with technological progress, is pushing boundaries each day in terms of opportunities in the medium and large format printing domain. The acquisition of new printing equipment is making it possible to use new techniques, which have become essential in light of the variety of possible applications.
With the same equipment backbone, the “2.0 printer” is ready to explore these new business opportunities – which, in turn, means new business.
Today, we note a high quantity of equipment used by European printers, to the extent that the production capacity for digital printing outweighs the demand. On the other hand, we are perfectly entitled to ask ourselves: are the very latest digital printers, the brand new digital printing processes not also potential growth drivers in a now multi-market domain?
These questions will be considered at the C!Print exhibition through conferences, demonstrations of techniques and dedicated workshops.
